| A Neutron Star |
Neutron stars are one of the most violent things in the Universe. They are very dense and have a very small diameter (probably about 20-30 kilometres). They are formed by the death of a star that is more massive than our Sun.
Stars mainly consist of Hydrogen atoms. Due to immense pressure, the atoms are fused into Helium and further heavier elements. If the star is massive enough, it goes under a Supernova explosion and a Neutron Star is formed which is highly dense(mass of millions of Earths), very small (smaller than our moon) and extremely hot( hotter than our Sun). This comparison must have given you an idea of the Neutron Stars. Neutron Stars and Black Holes are very closely related. You would learn more about Black holes in the next post.
